Planning a tractor service: your parts checklist
Prepare your filters, specifications and quantities from the right manual before you order.
Plan for your specific tractor
Start with the full tractor model, identification details, operating hours and the service you are planning. A general service kit or a familiar-looking filter may not be right for your machine.
Use the correct operator manual for the service schedule, specifications and quantities. This guide is a shopping checklist, not a workshop procedure: it does not set a universal service interval, oil capacity or lubricant specification.
Make a list of the filters that are due
The manufacturer parts ranges cover filters, belts and lubricants, but the items needed for your service depend on the tractor and its schedule. Check each item below only where fitted and due.
- Engine-oil filter
- Fuel filter or filter elements
- Air-filter elements
- Hydraulic or transmission filters
- Cab filter
Record specifications as well as quantities
For each item, note the existing reference, quantity required and any specification given in the manual. Keep the tractor details beside the list so a parts enquiry can be checked against the machine.
For lubricants and fluids, record the exact required specification and quantity from the correct documentation. Do not choose an oil solely because its container, colour or description looks familiar. Ask an appropriate service professional if you are unsure about the requirement.
Check what else you need before starting
If a belt, seal or other component needs attention, add its reference and description to your enquiry. Have its suitability and any required work checked before adding a replacement to your service plan.
Combine your requested quantities into one list. This helps you see which items are in the catalogue and which need a separate availability enquiry. Do not assume that a category listing means the item is suitable for your tractor.
Allow time for parts that need sourcing
GD Machinery’s displayed stock comes from the latest uploaded report. In-stock items can be added to a collection basket, while unavailable items can be requested so Brian can check a lead time.
Send your list before the planned service and explain any timing constraints. A request does not guarantee a delivery date or reserve stock. Wait for confirmation that your parts are ready before travelling to collect them.
